How is it installed?
Adding insulation adds about 2 days to the build time of your pool. It is adhered to the shell and floor of your pool on site prior to craning into position. Because the insulation is bonded to the shell and there is a maximum of 2cm between the water an the insuation, This maximises its effect as you are not paying to heat a concrete wall as in conventional pool building as concrete takes roughly twice as much engery to heat a ceramic composite at a similar thickness. Also because the insulation is outside of the pool shell it is not integral to the pools structure and the water tightness of the pool will not be affected should there be any ground moment. There is no risk of tiles chipping off or damage to the structure.

The proportions of a 10m x 5m has held such popularity because mathematically it is easy for the concrete pool builder to construct economically using standard sized concrete blocks, thus as many portfolios will contain this size of pool, and people specify what they see when they come to build their own.

However architecturally this proportion is not so pleasing on the eye as the wide width tricks the eye into thinking that the pool is stubby or short. By reducing the width by just one metre gives the pool more perspective and thus looks longer and sleeker to the eye in a building or garden environment, often drawing the eye along its length to a design feature at the end. In fashion this is a well know fact as designers use vertical lines to make the wearer look slimmer! 

The architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh was the initiator of this trend in design with the beautiful designs he created in building and furniture to make them appear taller or longer than they actually were.
