Installing an indoor pool in the UK is a very attractive option. Here at Compass we have devised several options to make enjoying your pool all year round as easy as possible. Installation into an existing building

If you have an existing building that you are looking to place a pool in this is generally a more expensive option than putting a new building up as the existing building will generally need underpinning if the pool is to be located close to any of the external or supporting walls (2m is the general rule but depends on a number of factors). We also install our pool as a whole shell. And thus we need a hole the cross profile of the pool normally about 4m x 1.8m in the side of the building (this is not normally a problem as most customers will be installing sliding doors at the same time). You will need to work with an external contractor in this instance to provide us with a ready excavated hole and access to get the shell in.

Installation into a new building (built by contractor)

When installing a pool in a new building,  you are not actually doing that, this may sound strange but you build the pool first then put the building around it. The build process would normally go as follows

1. Contractor excavate the pool (to spec) & excavate for foundations of building
2. Contractor pours foundations
3. Compass install pool shell and pipework, fill with water
4. Compass board over the pool
5. Contractor constructs building without decorative finishes but including power.
6. Compass return to fit plant room & coping stones
7. Compass works with trusted Ventilation contractor to install duct work for air control system & pool heating
8. Contractor returns to install plasterboard, finishes & flooring.

Installation into a Compass Built Building

Install a sliding dome cover

There are two options when installing a sliding dome cover, a full heigh dome and a low profile dome. Both of these allow for all year round use and help save on running costs. They can also be simply slid back in the summer to allow you to swim in the great outdoors. Both types can be integrated or attached to the house, Planning permission on this type of enclosure is not normally requied although you should always check with your local planning office as areas of outstanding natural beauty and small gardens may be effected.

Full height
As it sounds a cover that you can walk around under.

Low height
These are normally head height at one end allowing you  get in the pool.
