Why Ceramic Composite?
Ceramic Vinylester Composite Vs Fibreglass & Polyester Pools
Historically One Piece pools specifically Fiberglass pools have earned themselves a bad name in the industry due to pool quality control and lots of after install problems. This has largely been due to osmosis of the shell, with ground water traveling trough the wall of the pool and breaking it down some after as soon as 5 years after install. Some manufacturers are now offering upto 10 year warranty with their products, however most people will only install a pool once in their lifetime and would expect it to last longer than 10 years. A Ceramic core creates an impermeable barrier and adds significant strength and thickness to the pool construction all warranted and gaurenteed by a Multinational Pool Manufacturer producing 30’000 pools for over 30 years.
UV Shell fade or staining due to the colour coat of the pool being in direct contact with the chlorinated water. Compass prevents this though a clear impermeable Biluminite layer that separates the colour from the water now warranted by Compass for 20 years with pools installed in Australia under intense UV light exposure.
Invalidation of warranty due to the pool being heated above 30 degrees. Compass due to the ceramic core warrant upto 40 degrees with no risk of damaging the shell. (40 degrees is hotter than most baths!)
Here’s a little more about the technology that goes into making your Compass Pool.
Over 30 years ago Compass innovated their Patented Ceramic Pool manufacturing method. Australian patent PN 1690, the basis for the insurance policy and lifetime warranty against osmosis. A total of six glass fibre-reinforced layers of composite are laminated to produce a solid, chemically resistant basin.
In the first phase, the foundation is laid for the colourfastness, chemical resistance and scratch resistance. A series of glass fibre-reinforced vinylester ceramic composite layerrs is then applied to the the basin to reduce ageing. The hard shell is fitted to separate the final bases from the ground and any groundwater. Our insulated pools can stand water temperatures of up to 40°C without any damage. Polyester pools are only resistant up to 28°C to 30°C.
