How much space do I need for an endless swimming pool?

The space required for an endless pool will depend on the specific model and desired swimming area, but they typically range from 2.1-6 metres long and 1.8-2.7 metres wide. For a residential installation, most manufacturers recommend a minimum of 0.9 metres of decking space around the pool.

Some examples of common endless pool sizes and spacing requirements:

  • 1 x 4.3 metre pool – Requires about a 3 x 5.2 metre area
  • 4 x 4.9 metre pool – Needs around a 3.4 x 5.8 metre space
  • 3 x 4.9 metre pool – A 4 x 5.8 metre area is recommended

In addition to the pool itself, you’ll need to account for space to house the equipment like pumps and filters. Many endless pool models have the equipment installed internally, but external equipment pads may need 0.9-1.5 additional metres.
