The Brief
The client wanted to redesign their garden to create a space that combined both beauty and functionality. Due to the limited size of the garden, a traditional swimming pool was not an option. Instead, they sought to incorporate a Swim Spa that would provide a powerful exercise solution while preserving the aesthetic and design of the garden.
Swimming was an important part of the customers’ fitness routine, so the solution needed to deliver a robust swimming experience without overwhelming the garden’s design.
The Design
After evaluating various options, the client chose the Fit 50 Swim Spa, known for its compact size and powerful performance. To maintain the sleek, modern look of the garden, the Swim Spa was installed in-ground, creating a seamless integration with the surrounding landscape. This approach ensured that the Swim Spa did not disrupt the overall garden design, providing a discreet yet functional feature.
A key feature of the installation was the inclusion of a Turbine SwimJet system. The client opted for this advanced system over traditional pumped jets, recognising that the turbine provided a stronger and more consistent water flow, essential for effective swim workouts. Additionally, to address energy efficiency concerns, the Swim Spa was equipped with a high-efficiency heat pump, a more sustainable alternative to standard electric heaters.
Given that the Swim Spa was sunken into the ground, ease of maintenance was a critical consideration. To facilitate this, a remote plant room was constructed, housing all necessary equipment. This setup allowed for easy access to the equipment without the challenges posed by an under-unit installation, which was particularly important given the in-ground placement.
The Challenges
The primary challenge of this project was to integrate a functional Swim Spa into a limited garden space without compromising on the aesthetic appeal. By sinking the Swim Spa in-ground and constructing a remote plant room, the project team was able to deliver a solution that met the client’s need for a powerful swimming experience while maintaining the visual integrity of the garden.
Another challenge was ensuring the Swim Spa could operate efficiently year-round. The installation of a heat pump addressed this concern, providing an energy-efficient solution that allowed the client to enjoy their Swim Spa without worrying about high operational costs.

The result is a beautifully integrated Swim Spa that fits perfectly within the compact garden, providing the client with a powerful and energy-efficient swimming solution. The careful planning and execution of the in-ground installation and remote plant room have ensured that the Swim Spa is both functional and easy to maintain, making it an ideal feature for the client’s redesigned garden.
