The Brief
The client was looking for a modern, elegant swimming pool that would serve as the centerpiece of their urban garden. They envisioned a sleek, minimalistic design that would seamlessly blend with the contemporary architecture of their home while providing a serene escape from the bustling city life. The pool needed to be both aesthetically striking and highly functional, offering a private oasis for relaxation and recreation.
The Design
The pool installed is an XL-Trainer 110FB, chosen for its clean lines and spacious layout, which perfectly complements the modern design of their home. Measuring 11m x 4m, the pool features a Nova Gray ceramic shell that harmonises with the light granite coping stones, creating a sophisticated and cohesive look. The surrounding patio is paved with matching tiles, providing a generous space for lounging and entertaining, and is framed by meticulously maintained hedges that ensure privacy.
A key design feature is the seamless integration of the pool cover, which is housed in a hidden pit under the water’s surface, maintaining the pool’s sleek appearance. The pool area also includes a stylish pergola, offering a shaded spot for relaxation and enhancing the overall comfort and usability of the space.
The Challenges
The main challenge in this project was to create a luxurious pool experience within the constraints of an urban garden while maintaining privacy and harmony with the existing landscape. The team had to carefully plan the excavation and installation, given the restricted access to the site. Additionally, integrating modern automation and filtration systems in a way that did not disrupt the pool’s minimalist design required precise execution.
Another challenge was ensuring the pool would be both a functional swimming area and a visually appealing feature of the garden. The use of high-quality materials and advanced technology allowed the team to meet these requirements, resulting in a space that is both practical and beautiful.
