About SPATA
The importance of SPATA for your peace of mind
Waterstream Ltd, the parent company of Compass Ceramic Pools UK, is proud to be a member of the Swimming Pool and Allied Trades Association (SPATA). This means that our pool installations meet SPATA’s exacting standards on quality, construction and safety. When it comes to swimming pool standards, there is no higher European authority than SPATA.
Our installations are regularly inspected by SPATA to ensure that we maintain the correct standards and that our business practices adhere to an approved ethical code.
What does SPATA cover?
SPATA covers more than just the building of swimming pools. Any time that you have a spa, sauna or steam room created and sold by Waterstream and Compass, you can be sure that they comply with the regulations set down by the organisation. There are less than 200 companies in the UK and Ireland who have their design, installation, equipment and maintenance standards approved by SPATA – and we are proud to be one of them.
If you want to buy a swimming pool and have it installed, it’s important that you choose a company with SPATA membership. Doing so ensures that your specifications and needs will be met by a business with internationally-recognised levels of quality and service.
Important European organisations
Here are a few important acronyms if you’re thinking about buying and installing a swimming pool into your home: SPATA is a member of BSPF – British Swimming Pool Federation – as well as being a member of EUSA – European Union of Swimming Pool and Spa Association. All three organisations govern the standards of swimming pool planning, builds and installations.
Buying your pool from a SPATA member such as ourselves will both ensure that you are personally meeting all planning and safety requirement and you’ll be saving valuable time as we are highly experienced at every stage of swimming pool builds and installation.
Why choose a member of SPATA?
A swimming pool is a huge investment that has the potential to add a significant amount of value to your property, so you need to ensure that it is carried out by trusted professionals. The installation also needs to be carried out in carefully planned legal compliance.
As a SPATA member, we can advise you in all matters of Planning Consent: For example, if you want to build an indoor pool in a listed building you’ll need Planning Consent. Sometimes, outdoor pools require Building Regulations Consent to proceed. We would be happy to help you with any issues with Local Authority Planning Consent or Building Control departments.
Being SPATA members, we fully understand the European Standards that govern swimming pool builds and we can guide you through the specific safety and test requirements that you need to adhere to. SPATA members can advise you on how to conserve water, while still enjoying the benefits of your pool, when there’s a hosepipe ban.
These are just a few of the ways in which, as a SPATA member, we can ensure that your swimming pool choice and installation process is a smooth one. We ensure:
- That your pool is built to the highest aesthetic and technical design principles.
- Installation is fully legally compliant and hassle-free.
- The most cost-effective and energy efficient solution for your investment.
- That we only work with trade suppliers, equipment and ancillary retailers, contractors, designers and engineers who are also SPATA members.
Choosing to build and install your swimming pool with Compass means that you can add peace of mind to high levels of satisfaction and enjoyment; we’ve worked hard to earn our SPATA membership and we will continue to do so, to retain it.
