Creating your perfect pool

Our team of expert pool constructors specialise in the installation of in-ground pools. Compass Pools are delivered in one piece to your home and are then craned into a hole that has been excavated. When you buy through us you can choose from more than 30 different styles and sizes of pool, which will then be delivered to your property.

We completely understand that a swimming pool is a huge purchase and that you need an end product that is perfect for your needs and requirements. To achieve this our architects work with you on every step of the process, from the initial consultation and design through to the build and aftercare.

You can choose from a broad range of options to bring your dream swimming pool to life, including customisation with different colours and water features.

Pool installation costs

One of our most commonly asked questions is ‘how much does a pool cost?’ Of course the answer depends on a huge range of factors including the size of the pool and where it is going to be installed. In most scenarios it is cheaper to have a pool installed outdoors due to the additional costs in altering your home, and additionally choosing a builder with a good reputation can save significant costs later down the line.

At Compass Pools we offer excellent value for money and prices that can’t be matched by our competitors. This is because we specialise in one-piece ceramic pools which can be built more quickly and cost-effectively than standard concrete pools. Additionally, we believe our pools offer superior durability, longevity and quality than concrete options.

If you’re interested in getting a quote for your new swimming pool, a member of our team would be happy to talk you through the details. You can either call us or visit our showroom in West Sussex. Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to install my pool?

Installing a pool is a complicated process beginning with groundworks, progressing to the installation of the pool itself and then onto the finishing touches. At Compass Pools we can typically offer installation times that are far faster than other pool builders due to the fact that we utilise carbon ceramic composite pools which are transported to you and installed in one piece. For simple installations with minimal complications a pool can be installed in between 4 and 6 weeks.

Do I need to have planning permission in place?

No, it is generally not necessary to get planning permission for an outdoor pool. In the majority of cases, swimming pools can be built without planning permission as long as they don’t take up more than half of the garden or are not overlooked by a public highway or path. There are some additional exceptions that you need to be aware of – if your property is listed or in an area of outstanding natural beauty, you will likely to need to gain permission to place a pool on it. In any case it is often best to seek the advice of your local council.

Will a pool affect my home insurance?

This will depend on your insurance provider and the specific policy you have taken out. Some companies will raise their premiums for swimming pools and others will not. Likewise, some forms of home insurance will cover your pool and others will not. You should speak to your insurance company before you have the pool built.

What chemicals do I need for my pool?

In general, pools require a number of chemicals to keep their clean and safe to swim in. Compass ceramic pools require fewer due to the impermeable nature of the material our pools are created from. It is also possible to create natural swimming pools that do not require chemicals but use a reed bed and filter system instead. Talk to our team to learn more.

What our clients say about us…

  • Peter Williams - Eastbourne, Sussex testimonial - featured imageCompass were great throughout the whole process of choosing a pool, ordering it, installing it and tweaking any slight changes since it was finished. It has now been in for a year and I swim every day before breakfast regardless of the weather, snow on the ground etc. We have recently had a pool house finished so I can go straight from the pool into the shower without having to dry first! I would thoroughly recommend Compass for the products they sell and for the service that they provide.

  • Pool with Mini FountainsThere are two aspects to the company, the people and the product. I can't fault either of them. The people are friendly, expert and very helpful. Theirs is a premium product but worth it. The build quality is first rate and the operating system options can give you a package as sophisticated as you wish.
