How a pool is installed
Don’t allow false ideas about the costs involved with building a swimming pool put you off having one installed. Groundwork and Stabilisation
Regardless of the pool design you have your heart set upon, the groundwork, site preparation and stabilisation stages of the construction process are all incredibly important. This is why we at Compass Pools offer a bespoke in-house design and build service: once we have agreed a design proposal with you, we will then undertake a site survey to minimise the likelihood of any delays impacting the construction schedule.
Preparing the ground works for a new swimming pool involves two key things: first, excavating the space required to install the pool and second, connecting the basin to the technical area. Once the digging work has been carried out, the pit bottom is equalised manually to create as even a supporting surface as possible. We carry out this stabilisation using a micro concrete of 150 to 200 kg cement/m3.
Pool Surround
The pool’s surround is finished using edging tiles that have been specially selected for Art Deco pools. These tiles come in blue or anthracite bush hammer finish granite and are glued together to waterproof the entire surround. The joints are then grouted without any grouting left visible. The distribution of the edging stones is calculated prior to the installation to avoid the insertion of smaller pieces later on.
Underwater Lighting
Underwater lighting is an integral part of all Compass Pool’s swimming pool designs. This provides an extraordinary aesthetic effect in your garden and adds an extra ‘wow-factor’ when enjoying evenings in and around the pool. Our pool lighting service includes the delivery and connection of two waterproof low-voltage projectors (12V, 300 W), the necessary cables, fuses, switch and transformer (220 / 12 V). This transformer is operated using either a control panel or a remote control integrated into a single device with other automatic functions.
